DOUGHNUT
1 Packet of PrimaMix Doughnut Mix
180-200 ml Water
Cooking Oil for frying
Decoration Chocolate Ring Doughnut
100 g Toasted Almond Flake
100 g Melted Cooking Chocolate
Twist Doughnut/Ball Doughnut
50 g Castor Sugar
Instructions
Put PrimaMix Doughnut Mix in a mixer,
add water and mix at low speed: 1 mins,
medium speed: 9 mins
Cover the dough in the mixer with a
moist cloth and let it stand for about
25 mins at room temperature.
For Twist doughnut divide the dough into
30g each. Round and rest the dough for
10 mins.
Roll each dough to about 6 inches long,
turn into "U" shape, twist and
seal at the end. See diagram (8) and proceed
to Step 9.
Repeat the rolling and folding 3 times
as in (1) to (3).
Cover dough with a moist cloth and
let it rest for 5 mins.
Roll the dough to even thickness of
10mm as in (4). Dust with flour to prevent
sticking.
Cut rings of doughnut with a doughnut
cutter (6.5cm diameter) as in (5) - (6).
Roll the remaining dough as in (7) into
sheet and cut again.
For Ball Doughnut, use the remainder
dough from the center of the ring doughnut,
joint 3 to 4 pieces together using a stick.
Arrange doughnuts on a greased flat
surface. Cover with a moist cloth and
let it rise for about 1 hour at room temperature.
Heat up oil in deep fryer to 180°
(medium heat). Test the oil temperature
with a piece of remaining dough.
Fry doughnuts till golden brown (1-2
mins on each side).
Ring Doughnut: Coat Ring Doughnut with
melted chocolate, top it with toasted
almond flakes.
Twist Doughnut/Ball Doughnut: Lightly
coat doughnut with castor sugar.
Note: Always melt chocolate using the top of
a double boiler over hot simmering water. Stir
occasionally until chocolate melts to a smooth
consistency.
